Pengshan Economic Development Zone in Meishan City, Sichuan Province, is rapidly advancing its manufacturing sector. Albemarle Sichuan New Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the global leader Albemarle Corporation, produced 24,700 tons of battery-grade lithium hydroxide from January to June this year, generating revenue of 3.05 billion yuan. This performance underscores the zone's strategic focus on high-end manufacturing, as it drives industrial cluster growth and multi-sector synergy across the region.

From January to June, industrial enterprises above a designated size in the zone achieved an output value of 14.51 billion yuan, marking a 51.8% year-on-year increase. This growth reflects the zone's commitment to scaling production capacity and enhancing industrial vitality, with companies working diligently to meet targets and expand their footprint.

The zone's approach emphasizes "co-symbiosis along the chain." For instance, Sichuan Jianghua Microelectronics Materials Co., Ltd. operates a fully automated production line for wet electronic chemicals, with a monthly output of around 4,000 tons and an annual sales target of 50,000 tons. The company has invested 20 million yuan in a new research lab to upgrade its product technology to the SEMI G5 grade, the highest standard for semiconductor wet electronic chemicals. This initiative aims to fill a gap in the high-end functional electronic chemicals market in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, strengthening the upstream and downstream ecosystem of the electronic information industry cluster within the zone.

Other companies are also contributing to this ecosystem. Silicone (Meishan) New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. has invested 560 million yuan to produce silicon-carbon anode materials with higher energy density, targeting an annual output value of over 800 million yuan. Meishan Jinrui Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. has invested 600 million yuan in a comprehensive base for key materials supporting the integrated circuit manufacturing chain in western China, including a 200,000-ton annual capacity for electronic-grade sulfuric acid, reducing regional dependence on external supplies. The zone now hosts leaders like CALB Technology (Sichuan) Co., Ltd., Sichuan Shanshan New Materials Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Tianci High-Tech Materials Co., Ltd., covering core segments from basic lithium salts to batteries, with a collaboration radius of less than 5 kilometers.

To accelerate project progress, the zone provides full-service support. The Sichuan Minfu New Energy Vehicle Parts Production Base, a key project for Minfu Group in Southwest China, started construction in March, completed the main structure in August, and is scheduled for trial production in November. The zone's team dedicated personnel to assist with approvals, simplify processes, and resolve issues swiftly. Minfu Group Chairman Qiu Bo Leng noted the company's commitment to the region, citing the local government's efficiency and sincerity. State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company's Meishan Pengshan Power Supply Branch also offers one-on-one tracking services to ensure uninterrupted power for key enterprises.

The zone has implemented a "comprehensive inspection once" reform, with full QR code scanning for enterprise visits and joint enforcement to reduce burdens. Zhang Chao, Deputy Director of the zone's Project Service Center, emphasized a philosophy of "keeping troubles for ourselves, convenience for enterprises," ensuring businesses feel welcomed, retained, and supported. By the end of July, the zone had signed 20 projects worth 12.6 billion yuan, covering electronic information materials, new energy storage, low-altitude economy, and lithium battery materials. Looking ahead, the zone plans to refine service mechanisms, offering stable policies, efficient administration, and a mature industrial environment to foster sustainable growth.
