Prudential plc updates share capital after latest buyback and option exercises

Prudential plc announced adjustments to its share capital following transactions completed on May, 20 2026.

The company cancelled 252,765 ordinary shares repurchased on May, 18 2026, trimming its issued share base by 0.0100%. On the same day, 3,112 new ordinary shares were issued after employees exercised options under the Prudential Sharesave Plan 2023, enlarging the share base by 0.000123%.

After these changes, Prudential plc’s issued share capital comprises 2,522,934,373 ordinary shares.

Separately, the firm repurchased 251,922 shares on May, 20 2026 on the London Stock Exchange that are awaiting cancellation. Together with 527,219 shares repurchased on May, 19 2026, a total of 779,141 shares are pending cancellation.

Under its buyback mandate approved on May, 14 2025, Prudential plc is authorised to repurchase up to 262,668,701 shares. To date, it has repurchased 90,017,997 shares, representing 3.456143% of the issued share capital on the mandate date. A moratorium on new share issues or treasury share sales runs until Jun, 19 2026.
