At the global debut and pre-sale launch event for the XPeng G9L, XPeng Group Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng engaged with the media. During the launch, He Xiaopeng revealed that the XPeng G9L underwent three years of testing across 26 countries and regions, with a cumulative test mileage exceeding 6.74 million kilometers.
With the industry's pace of product launches accelerating, the decision to test the XPeng G9L for three years raised questions about the rationale behind it. He Xiaopeng explained that the XPeng G9L was conceived after the launch of the XPeng G9 in 2022, with the project formally initiated between 2022 and 2023. The goal is for the G9L to be a pivotal model for XPeng's global expansion over the next 5 to 10 years.
As a result, XPeng prioritized quality, reliability, durability, and stability from the very beginning. The vehicle underwent over 6.7 million kilometers of testing, while the powertrain and battery systems were tested for more than 20 million kilometers, all in pursuit of achieving premium quality.
"Since last year, we've seen an increasing number of new models entering the market. Instead, we believe that chassis, powertrain, and intelligence are becoming more homogenized. By modularizing these components, ensuring high quality, and designing for a global market, we hope that when customers think of XPeng, they associate it with premium quality. This is the goal we are fully committed to achieving," He Xiaopeng said.
