Bendigo and Adelaide Bank's stock soared 5.07% during intraday trading on Thursday, reflecting significant investor optimism following a series of company announcements.
The surge appears driven by the bank's release of positive unaudited third-quarter financial results, including cash earnings of A$137.9 million and a statutory net profit after tax of A$109.4 million. Furthermore, the bank reported a net interest margin of 1.98%, representing a 6 basis point improvement from the previous quarter, alongside a net interest income of A$433.2 million.
Investors also reacted positively to strategic announcements, including a six-year business operations partnership with Genpact and a seven-year technology service partnership with Infosys. These moves are part of expected improvements that will lead to workforce changes, with upfront transition costs estimated between A$85 million and A$95 million, mostly anticipated in FY27.
