Driven by an efficient "five ones" coordination mechanism for its ten modern manufacturing pillar industries, Guangxi has unified efforts across the region to accelerate sector development. In the first half of this year, the output scale of these industries continued to expand, with structures becoming more innovative and optimized, accelerating the pace of transformation and upgrading, and further highlighting their leading role.
Inductors are precision electronic components used in smart devices like cars and phones for filtering, energy storage, and signal interference protection. Guangxi Cence Electronics, located in Binyang County, focuses on this sector. Leveraging self-developed intelligent production lines and a comprehensive product matrix, it has achieved an annual capacity of 20 billion units and holds over 200 national patents. Capitalizing on strong industry momentum, the company is seizing opportunities in AI and new energy, with its performance growing about 30% in the first half of 2026. Its products are widely used in core scenarios such as smart terminals, computing servers, new energy vehicles, and robots.
From January to June, the value added of Guangxi's AI and next-generation information technology industry grew 14.4% year-on-year, which is 9.6 percentage points higher than the average growth rate of industrial enterprises above designated size in the region. Output of industrial robots, integrated circuits, and intelligent connected vehicles increased by 2.0 times, 97.1%, and 37.3%, respectively.
While industries embrace innovation, traditional advantageous sectors are also upgrading. On July 18, Guigang Steel's new annual 700,000-ton bar and wire composite production line entered the hot commissioning phase. The project focuses on upgrading the existing bar line, adding a new high-speed wire line, and completing full-system upgrades to achieve coordinated bar and wire production with improved processes. The integrated L1 and L2 automation control systems enable fully automatic control, data collection, parameter optimization, and fault alerts throughout production. Once fully operational, the new line will fill the regional gap in high-end special steel and premium wire rod supply. Additionally, by optimizing rolling processes, eliminating old high-energy-consuming equipment, and intelligently controlling production rhythms, the project effectively reduces energy and auxiliary material consumption.
In the first half of this year, four pillar industries—modern green chemicals, AI and next-generation information technology, nonferrous metals and key metal materials, and new energy vehicles and batteries—all achieved double-digit output value growth, serving as the core force stabilizing the industrial base. From January to June, the ten pillar industries completed a total industrial output value of 1.3 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.8% year-on-year, accounting for 89.1% of the region's total, underscoring their crucial role.
Looking ahead to the second half of the year, Guangxi will adopt category-specific measures to drive industrial development. On one hand, it will increase support for advanced steel materials, forest product processing and paper, green building materials, and biomedicine and health sectors, while tapping the growth potential of advantageous industries like nonferrous metals, green chemicals, AI, new energy vehicles, and batteries. On the other hand, it will implement a technical upgrade action plan for the ten industries, aiming to start over 350 technical transformation projects in the second half. Furthermore, the region will promote the marine-oriented development of these industries, upgrade the existing 12 autonomous region-level advanced manufacturing clusters, and strive to cultivate a new batch of regional clusters this year.
