In the first half of this year, the export value of agricultural products from Lvliang reached 397 million yuan, ranking first in the province. Walnuts and fresh pears are the main export drivers, while the range of export categories continues to expand. Local authorities are implementing multiple measures to streamline the entire agricultural export chain.
According to the Lvliang Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the city's agricultural product exports performed strongly in the first half of the year. The export value of 397 million yuan represents a year-on-year increase of 7.2%, accounting for 42.4% of the province's total agricultural exports, placing Lvliang first in the province.
Walnuts are the core leading category for Lvliang's agricultural exports. In the first half of the year, the city's walnut export value reached 322 million yuan, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year, accounting for 81.1% of the city's total agricultural export value. Leveraging the local Fenzhou walnut resources, leading enterprises in the region are advancing deep processing of products, developing over 30 varieties such as amber walnuts and spiced walnut kernels. This shift from primary processing to deep processing is increasing product value. Walnuts are now exported to more than 20 countries and regions worldwide, enhancing the international brand recognition of Fenzhou walnuts.
Fresh pears are the second-largest pillar of Lvliang's agricultural exports, with an export value of 52.492 million yuan in the first half of the year, representing 13.2% of the city's total agricultural export value. The first "Approved Exporter" enterprise among provincial-level key agricultural industrialization leading enterprises in Shanxi Province is based in Wenshui County. Through standardized sorting and streamlined export procedures, the enterprise's crisp pears are exported in bulk to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Malaysia, solidifying the overseas fresh fruit market.
In terms of product categories, the export lineup of Lvliang's specialty agricultural products continues to diversify. In the first half of the year, fresh apple exports reached 16.757 million yuan, a significant year-on-year increase of 202.3%. Fresh broccoli, fruit juice, and vegetable oil achieved their first-ever export records. The overseas markets for agricultural and food products such as liquor, dried kidney beans, and eggs continue to expand, enriching the range of agricultural export categories and further highlighting the resilience of foreign trade.
In recent years, Lvliang has focused on its specialty industries, including Fenyang walnuts, Wenshui fresh pears, and Lin County red dates. Efforts have been made to tap into the agricultural potential of seven foreign trade-weaker counties and cultivate new market entities for foreign trade. The city has established external cooperation platforms, developed cross-border e-commerce, and guided enterprises to enhance their product technology and brand influence. Additionally, logistics channels for export are being optimized, with the normalization of the Lvliang-dedicated China-Europe Railway Express train service. Construction is underway on the province's first International Road Transport (TIR) consolidation center, providing one-stop customs clearance services to facilitate the entire agricultural export chain.
