Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 394,752 ordinary shares on June, 22 2026 following a repurchase completed on June, 18 2026. The cancelled shares represented about 0.0157% of the company’s issued share capital.
As a result, Prudential’s total number of issued shares fell to 2,513,394,417.
The company also disclosed that it bought back a further 395,188 shares on June, 22 2026 on the London Stock Exchange for cancellation, paying between GBP 10.015 and GBP 10.175 per share, and that 396,677 shares repurchased on June, 19 2026 remain pending cancellation.
Under its buyback mandate approved on May, 14 2025, Prudential is authorised to repurchase up to 262,668,701 shares. To date, 99,570,677 shares have been repurchased under this mandate, equivalent to about 3.82% of the shares outstanding on the mandate date.
The company is barred from issuing new shares until July, 22 2026 under exchange rules that impose a 30-day moratorium following a buyback.
