Following his victory at the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) in Portugal, "Zhang Xue Motorcycles" rapidly gained popularity, with its prominence continuing to rise. On March 30, during a group interview with multiple media outlets, Zhang Xue was asked if the Chongqing local government had provided any support. Known for his straightforward and honest character, he candidly stated, "To be honest, not a single cent was given." This remark quickly sparked widespread discussion and interpretation.

Late on the night of April 4, Zhang Xue posted a video on his Douyin account "Zhang Xue's Motorcycles" with the caption "Go China, Chongqing rise up!", formally responding to his previous statement. He joked about it, saying, "Regarding the phrase 'not a single cent,' what I was thinking at the time was that I hadn't taken any money from the government, I wanted to be honest, and also show off a bit – look, I can achieve something this cool on my own."

In the video, Zhang Xue expressed that it is already excellent and commendable for the government to just set up the "stage"; the remaining efforts are what the enterprise itself should undertake. Reflecting on the championship win, he admitted feeling very fortunate. "In our country, anything that can be designed can definitely find excellent suppliers because our manufacturing sectors are the most comprehensive and complete."

Zhang Xue also stated, "Even if I hadn't won the championship this time, there would have been a Li Xue, Chen Xue, or Wang Xue to win the championship representing Chinese motorcycles." When asked why he chose to base his operations in Chongqing, Zhang Xue explained, "Because Chongqing has abundant motorcycle supply chain resources, especially for high-performance heavy motorcycles. The industry talent pool is also very sufficient, and Chongqing's industrial manufacturing categories are very complete." He added that eighty to ninety percent of the engineers and mid-to-senior management at Zhang Xue Motorcycles are from Chongqing. Zhang Xue emphasized that it is precisely because Chongqing provides such fertile ground that Zhang Xue Motorcycles was able to achieve its current success within just two years.
