In June this year, China Eastern Airlines launched a "Relaxed Travel, Worry-Free Baggage" service product, offering convenience for passengers to have their luggage collected from home and delivered to the departure airport for check-in before their trip, known as "door-to-airport" service.

It has been reported that this product has now added a baggage delivery service at Shanghai's Hongqiao and Pudong airports for after passengers arrive, referred to as "airport-to-door" service. Passengers can submit a reservation up to 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure time. Upon landing, there is no need to wait at the baggage carousel for collection; a courier company will track the luggage throughout its journey and deliver it directly to the passenger's door.

According to current regulations, passengers who have purchased official self-operated tickets from China Eastern Airlines or Shanghai Airlines, are flying on a domestic route operated by China Eastern or Shanghai Airlines, and have a cabin class of S or above, can apply for a benefit coupon through the "Easy Travel" section of the China Eastern APP after purchasing their ticket. This allows them to book the baggage delivery service for free.

For the "door-to-airport" service, a courier company staff member will pick up the luggage within one hour, deliver it to the airport, and handle the check-in process on behalf of the passenger. For the "airport-to-door" service, after the passenger's flight lands, they can leave the terminal directly. Their checked luggage will then be delivered by a dedicated courier vehicle straight to the designated location specified by the passenger.

Following this upgrade to baggage services at Shanghai's two airports, China Eastern's previously launched "Worry-Free Baggage" services in cities including Beijing, Xi'an, Kunming, Wuhan, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen will also be progressively upgraded to include "airport-to-door" baggage delivery. This will allow more travelers to say goodbye to heavy luggage and unlock a lightweight, efficient, relaxed, and comfortable travel experience.
