Yum China (09987) rose more than 4% in the morning session, with shares up 4.26% as of press time to HK$337.60, on turnover of HK$89.7079 million.
Goldman Sachs recently noted in a research report that it has raised its 12-month target price for Yum China to HK$467 from HK$459, maintaining a "Buy" rating (on its Conviction List), and slightly lifted its net profit forecasts for the company for 2026 to 2028 by about 1% to 2%.
The bank expects Yum China to announce its third-quarter 2026 results in early November, with sales, restaurant profit, and operating profit during the period growing 9.3%, 9.2%, and 10.4% year-on-year respectively, or 3.4%, 3.3%, and 4.5% respectively on a constant currency basis.
In the second quarter, Yum China's total revenue rose 13% year-on-year to US$3.1 billion; operating profit grew 14% year-on-year to US$348 million; and net profit increased 14% year-on-year to US$244 million.
In August this year, the company announced it had completed the acquisition of the Pizza Hut brand's ownership in mainland China from Yum! Brands for US$1.2 billion.
