Shougang Fushan Projects 36%–49% Jump in 1H26 Profit on Higher Coking-Coal Prices and Volumes

Shougang Fushan Resources Group Limited issued a positive profit alert for the six months ended 30 June 2026, estimating consolidated profit attributable to shareholders at HK$550.00 million–HK$600.00 million. This compares with HK$404.00 million in the prior-year period, indicating a year-on-year increase of approximately 36%–49%.\n\nManagement attributes the earnings surge to three main factors:\n1. Market pricing tailwinds: Geopolitical tensions, supply disruptions and safety-related curtailments lifted coking-coal market prices, driving a 20% year-on-year rise in the selling price of the Group’s main clean coking-coal products. The average realised price for self-produced clean coking coal climbed about 16%.\n\n2. Volume expansion: Proactive production ramp-up enabled the Group to achieve a sales-volume increase of no less than 20% for self-produced clean coking coal during the period.\n\n3. Cost discipline: Excluding one-off redundancy compensation linked to labour-efficiency reforms, unit production cost of raw coal (excluding resources tax and levies) is expected to be below the 2025 full-year level.\n\nThe figures are based on unaudited management accounts and may be subject to adjustment. The interim results announcement is scheduled for release by end-August 2026.\n\nInvestors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in Shougang Fushan shares.
