Cheniere Energy (LNG) shares surged 5.08% in pre-market trading on Thursday, propelled by a blockbuster second-quarter earnings report that handily beat Wall Street expectations.
The Houston-based liquefied natural gas exporter reported quarterly revenue of $5.73 billion, up 24% from a year earlier and significantly above the $4.895 billion analyst consensus. Net income attributable to shareholders skyrocketed to $3.07 billion, or $14.65 per diluted share, compared to $1.63 billion in the prior-year period. Adjusted EBITDA came in at $1.8 billion, exceeding the $1.719 billion consensus estimate.
Buoyed by the strong performance, Cheniere raised its full-year 2026 guidance, lifting its consolidated adjusted EBITDA forecast to $7.9–$8.4 billion from the previous $7.25–$7.75 billion range. The results were driven by higher LNG volumes delivered and elevated U.S. natural gas prices, underscoring robust global demand for American LNG and the company's expanded export capacity.
