Prudential plc announced on Apr, 24 2026 that it cancelled 282,858 ordinary shares on Apr, 23 2026, reducing its issued share count to 2,523,005,655.
The insurer also disclosed that it bought back 320,663 ordinary shares on Apr, 23 2026 via the London Stock Exchange for cancellation. These purchases were made under the company’s existing share-repurchase mandate approved on May, 14 2025, which authorises up to 262,668,701 shares to be repurchased.
Following the latest transactions, Prudential plc has repurchased a cumulative 84,038,438 shares, representing 3.23% of the company’s issued shares as at the date the mandate was granted.
The company is restricted from issuing new shares until May, 23 2026, in line with the 30-day moratorium that follows on-market share repurchases.
