MiniMax Shares Surge Over 11% in Morning Trade as H3 Open-Source Multimodal Model Debuts

MINIMAX-W (00100) shares climbed more than 20% during intraday trading, and as of the time of writing, were up 11.19% to HK$226.60, with a trading volume of HK$953 million.

Xiyu Technology announced this morning the official launch of MiniMax H3. This is a general-purpose full-modal generation model that supports unified understanding of multimodal contexts comprising text, images, video, and sound. It can output audio and video with native dual-channel sound, supporting up to 15 seconds at 2K resolution.

MiniMax stated that it plans to open the model weights in the coming days, subject to compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Notably, MINIMAX was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on January 9 this year. Due to the additional requirement of meeting a listing period of six months and 20 trading days, it is expected to be included in the Stock Connect program in early August.
