Since the start of the year, the province has diligently implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, along with the work requirements of the provincial party committee and government. By intensifying the consumer stimulation initiative, accelerating the distribution of the "Caiyun" series of consumption vouchers, and steadily advancing trade-in programs for consumer goods, the province has maintained stable sales of basic necessities while witnessing positive growth in green and intelligent consumption.
Basic necessities have seen steady growth. In the first half of the year, retail sales of grain, oil, and food products by units above the designated size increased by 1.9% year-on-year. Among these, aquatic products achieved rapid growth, soaring by 27.7%, driven by events such as the "Indian Ocean Seafood Festival." Meanwhile, sales of dried and fresh fruits grew by 7.3%, and meat, poultry, and eggs rose by 2%. During the same period, the province recorded catering revenue of 94.65 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%.
Sales of green and intelligent products have grown rapidly. This year, trade-in subsidies for home appliances have focused on first-tier energy and water efficiency products, with the addition of a new category for smart glasses. The range of covered products has increasingly expanded toward innovation and intelligence, maintaining robust growth in upgraded categories such as green and smart items. In the first half of the year, retail sales of wearable smart devices, high-efficiency home appliances, sporting and entertainment goods, and communication equipment by units above the designated size grew by 59.6%, 24.5%, 17.4%, and 10.6%, respectively. Additionally, retail sales in the motor vehicle charging sector increased by 12.4%, reflecting broader acceptance of green travel concepts.
Online and physical retail have both maintained growth. In the first half of the year, accelerated distribution of "Caiyun" e-commerce consumption vouchers and the establishment of "Yun Products" zones on e-commerce platforms stimulated consumer potential, leading to steady and rapid growth in online sales. Online retail sales of goods in the province grew by 6.7%, with units above the designated size achieving an 18.4% year-on-year increase in retail sales through public networks. Some physical retail stores also saw growth; among retail units with storefronts above the designated size, discount stores leveraged their price advantages to increase retail sales by 6.3%, while unmanned stores, benefiting from effective cost control, saw retail sales surge by 25.1%.
Looking ahead, the province will continue to deepen the consumer stimulation initiative, effectively enhance residents' consumption capacity and willingness, persistently refine the consumption environment, and continuously innovate and expand consumption scenarios. These efforts aim to drive the consumer market toward sustained improvement, optimization, and favorable development.
