South Korea's benchmark Kospi index surged 14% in early trading on Friday, following a cumulative decline of 17% over the prior three sessions.

The sharp recovery was led by a powerful rebound in semiconductor stocks, fueled by a strong overnight rally in their US counterparts. SK Hynix shares skyrocketed more than 27%, while Samsung shares advanced over 20%.
