On 13 May 2026, Zhaojin Mining Industry Company Limited reported an accident at the infrastructure-stage Jintingling mine, a wholly owned subsidiary in Zhaoyuan, Shandong. The slag-removal incident resulted in three deaths and two injuries; the injured workers are in stable condition.
The company immediately activated its emergency plan and is cooperating with an official investigation. At the request of local emergency management authorities, all operating production mines in the Zhaoyuan region have been suspended for inspection.
