Bruker (NASDAQ: BRKR) shares plummeted 17.90% in pre-market trading on Tuesday, following the company's release of second-quarter 2026 financial results. The sharp decline came as investors reacted negatively to a top-line miss, a disappointing full-year revenue outlook, and significant non-cash impairment charges.

For the quarter ended June 30, the company reported revenue of $838.5 million, a 5.2% increase year-over-year, but below the analyst consensus estimate of $853.5 million. While adjusted earnings per share of $0.49 surpassed the $0.39 estimate, the bottom line was weighed down by a GAAP operating loss of $65.3 million and a net loss of $50.9 million. These losses were primarily driven by $134.9 million in non-cash goodwill impairment charges.

Looking ahead, Bruker cut its fiscal 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $3.54 billion to $3.57 billion, down from its previous outlook of $3.57 billion to $3.60 billion and below the consensus estimate of $3.589 billion. The company's non-GAAP EPS outlook of $2.10 to $2.15 was roughly in line with expectations. The combination of the revenue shortfall and the impairment-related losses overshadowed the operational improvements and fueled the sell-off.
