The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Friday that Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda has been invited to deliver a speech at a central banking lecture hosted by the organization on November 6.
According to a notice published on the IMF's official website, Ueda will hold a conversation with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva after his speech.
The Bank of Japan has not yet officially announced that Ueda will attend the event.
The event will take place after the Bank of Japan concludes its two-day policy meeting on October 30. The bank's next meeting is scheduled for December 17-18.
Given that the Bank of Japan has already raised interest rates twice this year, including the hike in September, many market participants expect the bank to raise rates again before the end of the year.
