Compass, Inc. (NYSE: COMP) shares surged 17.76% in after-hours trading following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results, which significantly exceeded analyst expectations.

The real estate services company reported a quarterly profit of $0.03 per share, a notable swing from a loss of $0.09 per share in the same period last year. Revenue more than doubled year-over-year to $2.704 billion, surpassing the consensus estimate of $2.668 billion. Net income attributable to stockholders reached $22 million, compared to a net loss of $51 million in Q1 2025.

Management highlighted strong operational performance, including an 85.7% year-over-year increase in brokerage gross transaction value to $97.3 billion. The company also raised its 2026 cost synergy targets and provided an optimistic outlook for the second quarter, forecasting revenue between $4.0 billion and $4.2 billion. These robust results and forward guidance are driving positive investor sentiment.
