According to the latest data released on the 3rd by the Polish automotive market research institute Samar, the Polish new car market demonstrated strong performance this June, with passenger car and van registrations achieving significant growth both year-on-year and month-on-month, setting the highest sales record for the period since the 21st century. Among this performance, the market share of Chinese automobile brands in Poland rose to 14.9%, once again setting a new historical record.

The data shows that in June this year, a total of 66,443 new passenger cars and vans were registered in Poland, representing a significant year-on-year increase of 19.7% and a month-on-month growth of 19.1%, continuing the volatile yet strengthening trend of the Polish automotive market. Driven by this, the cumulative new car registrations in Poland for the first half of 2026 reached 349,869 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%.

The performance of Chinese automobile brands in the Polish market has become a highlight. In June this year, the market share of Chinese brands in the Polish passenger car segment expanded from 14.6% in May to 14.9%, reaching a new historical peak. Among them, Mistras Group Inc (MG) became the first Chinese automobile brand to achieve a monthly sales volume exceeding 2,000 units in Poland. Furthermore, the green transition is steadily advancing, with the share of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in new car registrations for June rising from 4.1% in May to 5.1%.

Based on the current robust growth momentum, Samar Institute currently maintains its forecast for the full year 2026, projecting total passenger car registrations to reach 635,000 units and van registrations to be 75,000 units. However, the agency also noted that, given the actual growth rate currently exceeding expectations, it cannot rule out the possibility of further revising its full-year sales outlook upward later this year.
