A three-day concert by G.E.M. (Tang Tsz-kei) in Jiaxing, running from today until the 16th, is injecting strong momentum into the city's cultural tourism consumption market. Leveraging its prime location adjacent to the South Lake core scenic area and the South Lake Tiandi commercial district, the hotel accommodation market in Nanhu Street, Nanhu District, has seen a comprehensive surge in demand, with many chain and high-end hotels reporting significant booking increases and notable room rate premiums.

"Our current overall booking rate has reached 60%, and for the core concert day on Saturday, only five or six rooms remain available, with bookings approaching 90%," said Li Congshuai, manager of the Hanting Hotel Jiaxing South Lake Tiandi branch. He noted that alongside the concert's growing popularity, the hotel's room rates have seen a reasonable premium of 50% to 60% compared to daily rates, resulting in a dual increase in both customer traffic and revenue. The continuous spillover effect of cultural tourism activities directly confirms the strong resilience and vibrant vitality of the hotel accommodation industry in Nanhu Street.

According to reports, in Nanhu Street, the accommodation industry is forming a more stable capacity to handle holidays and large-scale events, centered around the South Lake scenic area, the South Lake Tiandi commercial district, and several newly opened hotels. Since the beginning of this year, with the staging of multiple large-scale events such as the Zuili Lake Music Festival and the Angela Chang concert in Jiaxing, the occupancy rates of hotels in the area have rapidly increased. Most hotels begin centralized bookings half a month in advance, with rooms for popular time slots essentially selling out.

As a microcosm of the upgrading and quality improvement of Nanhu Street's accommodation industry, the Hanting Hotel Jiaxing South Lake Tiandi branch has maintained stable high customer traffic since its operation last year. The hotel has 70 rooms. Leveraging its core location adjacent to the South Lake scenic area and South Lake Tiandi, combined with upgraded hardware facilities and meticulous service, its monthly average occupancy rate has stabilized around 90%. On weekends and holidays, it is essentially fully booked, with its overall performance ranking among the top hotels in the Huazhu Group's East China region. Wang Binwei, the head of the hotel's operating party, stated that the investment in the hotel's construction is 20% to 30% higher than that of a standard Hanting Hotel. With high-quality hardware facilities and a standardized service system, it caters to the high-end, quality-oriented consumer demand of Nanhu Street's cultural tourism accommodation, precisely attracting cultural tourism, performance, and urban leisure traffic.

Behind the continuous empowerment of cultural tourism scenarios and the steady release of consumption vitality lies the solid foundation of Nanhu Street's accommodation and catering industry. Data shows that in the first half of 2026, Nanhu Street fully implemented various measures to stabilize growth and promote consumption. The accommodation and catering industry achieved stable and quality development. The district's turnover for accommodation enterprises above the designated size reached 49.96 million yuan, and the turnover for catering enterprises above the designated size reached 273.05 million yuan, both exceeding the levels from the same period last year. More notably, the accommodation and catering turnover of the street accounted for 37.8% of the total in Nanhu District, becoming the core supporting pillar of the main urban area's consumer economy. From a segment perspective, the accommodation sector has steadily expanded its capacity. The revenue growth in the first half of this year was mainly driven by the strong performance of two newly upgraded enterprises, Yipin Hotel and Hanting Hotel. The catering sector relies on the agglomeration effect of the South Lake Tiandi commercial district and the stable support of key leading enterprises like Nanhu Hotel. The customer traffic from the commercial district, scenic area, and events forms an effective complement to each other.

To continuously hedge against market volatility risks, the street has precisely implemented policies to benefit the people and promote consumption. In July, it specifically issued accommodation consumption vouchers, offering a 20% discount on rooms to tourists through the Ctrip platform. This effectively reduced the travel and accommodation costs for tourists, stimulating incremental accommodation consumption. According to a relevant official from Nanhu Street, the Hyatt hotel will also open in the second half of the year. The street will fully support the Hyatt and the Nanhu Jiayuan Hotel in completing their upgrading and statistical reporting processes. At the same time, the area already has high-end accommodation resources like Nanhu Hotel, which has previously undertaken important foreign affairs reception tasks, giving it a strong identity within Nanhu Street's accommodation landscape. The successive opening of new hotels means that Nanhu Street is no longer just relying on traditional hotels and chain brands to handle customer traffic. Instead, it is gradually forming a coordinated development pattern of high-end hotels, quality chain hotels, and hotels near the scenic area. For tourists, this means more choices; for regional consumption, the increase in high-end accommodation supply helps to extend the length of stay, increase per capita consumption, and provide more complete supporting infrastructure for concerts, festival events, business receptions, and leisure tourism. With the successive opening and operation of high-end hotels such as Radisson, Hyatt Place, and Hyatt, Nanhu Street's accommodation industry is set to welcome a new round of supply expansion. For Nanhu Street, the accommodation industry is transitioning from merely "having a room to stay in" to an environment where "you can stay well, stay longer, and spend more completely." Centered on the core IP of South Lake, the accommodation industry in the main urban area is becoming a vital support for Nanhu Street to enhance its main urban consumption capacity through richer products, higher-end supply, and more dynamic consumption scenarios.
