Hong Kong Stock Market Flash: BRII-B Surges Over 8% as Interim Loss Narrows 32.08% and Promising Clinical Data Emerges

Shares of BRII-B (02137) climbed more than 8% before the midday break, trading up 8.16% at HK$1.06 with turnover reaching HK$52.37 million.

The company released its interim results for the six months ending June 30, 2026, on August 21, reporting other income of RMB 19.5 million, down 30.6% year-on-year, while research and development expenses fell 16.0% to RMB 98.3 million. The period's loss narrowed to RMB 101 million, a 32.1% reduction, with loss attributable to shareholders shrinking by 32.08%.

During the reporting period and shortly after, BRII-B generated additional clinical data supporting its differentiated functional cure strategy for HBV, while continuing to strengthen its internal discovery capabilities and advancing its RNA-based technology platform. In its clinical HBV program, the company presented end-of-study data from the Phase 2b ENSURE trial at the 2026 European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) conference.

On July 3, the company also announced end-of-treatment topline data from its Phase 2b ENRICH and ENHANCE studies. The consistent results from ENSURE, ENRICH, and ENHANCE collectively support the potential of BRII-179, as part of a combination regimen, to improve functional cure outcomes. Detailed data from the ENRICH and ENHANCE studies are expected to be released in the second half of 2026.
