Qingyang's Intelligent Computing Capacity Reaches New Heights in Western Data Hub Initiative

The city of Qingyang has announced a significant milestone in its digital economy push, with the computing power scale of its data center cluster surging to 215,000 P (petaflops). Notably, intelligent computing accounts for 99% of this capacity, representing nearly 10% of the national total, positioning Qingyang as one of the fastest-growing computing power hub nodes among China's eight major data center clusters.

Seizing the strategic opportunity presented by the national "East Data, West Computing" initiative, Qingyang has accelerated its digital economy development. As one of the country's eight national integrated computing network hub nodes and one of the ten national data center clusters, the city is advancing the construction of the Qingyang East Data West Computing Industrial Park, a national-level zero-carbon park. The city is committed to unlocking the complete value transformation chain of "energy-computing-word tokens," converting its green energy advantages into intelligent computing strengths.

Through its innovative "green power aggregation" model, Qingyang has successfully reduced electricity prices for AIDC enterprises to below RMB 0.4 per kilowatt-hour. This competitive advantage has attracted 751 digital economy companies to establish operations in the city, creating a comprehensive industry chain that spans domestic server production, large model applications, computing power operations, word token settlements, and supporting manufacturing.

Currently, major domestic AI models including Kimi, WPS AI, and DeepSeek have established a presence in Qingyang. Meanwhile, word token service platforms such as China Mobile's MoMA, Kingsoft Cloud's Xingliu, and Capital Online's GpuGeek are accelerating their deployment in the region. The city has also launched the nation's first AI-powered intelligent platform for market regulation and law enforcement case handling, supported by real-world scenarios. Industry applications like Qianli Intelligent Driving continue to deepen, with the computing power utilization rate of the Qingyang data center cluster surpassing 90%.

From 2023 to 2025, daily word token call volumes in the Qingyang data center cluster have grown from 1.2 trillion to 12 trillion times. This word token service now extends to Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Europe, marking a successful value transition from "selling computing power" to "selling word tokens."

To further drive the digital economy's rapid development, the Qingyang municipal government has partnered with Gansu Financial Holdings Group to establish a RMB 5 billion digital economy industry fund. This fund will focus on frontier areas including computing cluster construction, computing power scheduling and operations, and AI scenario applications, supporting Qingyang's goal of becoming a pivotal hub for the East Data West Computing initiative while empowering the region's modernization through new quality productive forces.
