Nexteer Automotive released its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining operational, environmental and social performance for the calendar year.
Financial and Innovation Highlights • Revenue reached a record high, up 7.2 % versus 2024, with 74 % of new business bookings classified as conquest wins. • Research & development expenditure totalled US$277 million, underpinning launches such as the MotionIQ™ software suite and the Electro-Mechanical Brake system. • The patent portfolio stood at 1,563 issued patents and 906 applications; 40 % of 2025 grants related to steer-by-wire, software or ADAS technologies.
Environmental Performance • Combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse-gas emissions fell 12.8 % year-on-year to 168,151 tCO₂e, supported by 91.20 million kWh of renewable electricity and a 2.6 % drop in total energy use. • 100 % of manufacturing sites now hold ISO 14001 certification; 82 % are ISO 45001 certified. • Sixty-seven efficiency projects delivered annual savings of 11,347 tCO₂e, 9.00 million kWh and 4.40 million litres of water. • Waste-diversion performance reached 85 %; hazardous waste generated declined to 4,166 tonnes.
Workforce and Safety • Global headcount stood at 12,466, of which 26.3 % were female. • The lost-workday case rate improved to 0.13, the company’s best result on record; no work-related fatalities occurred. • Nexteer earned 45 awards from the US National Safety Council, including a Corporate Culture of Safety accolade.
Supply-Chain Oversight • The company worked with 890 direct material suppliers; over 250 completed an annual ESG self-assessment. • Supplier audits incorporate IATF 16949 quality standards and adherence to Nexteer’s CSR Supplier Principles covering labour, ethics and environmental requirements.
Community Investment • Corporate giving exceeded US$0.10 million, and employees contributed more than 11,000 volunteer hours, with programmes focused on STEM education, neighbourhood revitalisation and health initiatives.
Governance and Recognition • Nexteer was named to the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index for the ninth consecutive year and appeared on TIME’s World’s Best Companies in Sustainable Growth list. • Board oversight of ESG is exercised through the Audit & Compliance Committee, with a management-level Sustainability Steering Committee driving implementation.
Looking Ahead Management signalled continued emphasis on emission reduction, renewable-energy sourcing and expansion of software-defined chassis technologies as the group enters its 120th anniversary year.
