Larvotto Resources Ltd surged 5.79% in the Monday morning session following the company's announcement that it will not submit a counterproposal to match Austral's offer for Hammer, and that a proposed placement of new shares to Glencore is not expected to proceed.

The decision brings clarity to Larvotto's strategic direction and potentially unlocks value for shareholders. As part of the process, the company anticipates that Hammer will terminate the Larvotto scheme implementation deed (SID) in accordance with its terms, resulting in a A$0.55 million break fee payable to Larvotto.

Investors appeared to welcome the news, driving the stock higher as the market reacted to the simplified corporate scenario and the immediate cash inflow from the break fee, which could strengthen the company's balance sheet.
