LOPAL TECH (02465) has announced that its wholly-owned overseas subsidiary, Lopal Tech Perth Pty Ltd, has entered into a Tenements and Mineral Rights Sale Agreement with Global Lithium Resources Limited and MB Lithium Pty Ltd. Under the agreement, Lopal Tech Perth will acquire lithium exploration tenements and associated assets located in Australia for a transaction price of A$14.85 million. The lithium project will require further exploration, mining license applications, and the construction of processing and mining capacity, with estimated additional investment exceeding US$200 million and a development timeline of approximately 2–3 years. The assets consist of lithium exploration tenements situated in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, approximately 150 kilometers southeast of Port Hedland. Since acquiring the mineral rights in 2019, GL1 has conducted extensive exploration on one of the core tenements, E45/4309, completing 734 reverse circulation drill holes and 7 diamond drill holes, totaling over 102.5 kilometers in depth. According to a JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate report for the Marble Bar Lithium Project prepared in 2022, the project holds ore resources of 18 million tons with an average lithium oxide grade of 1.0%. This acquisition represents a strategic move by the company to strengthen its upstream resource presence while focusing on its core lithium iron phosphate cathode materials business. As LOPAL TECH expands production and sales of its lithium iron phosphate products and advances overseas capacity development, the need for stable lithium supply and cost control has grown. The transaction is expected to enhance the company's lithium resource security, improve supply stability and resilience to market cycles, and strengthen its integrated supply chain competitiveness, aligning with its long-term development strategy and the interests of shareholders.
