Just four days after launching the products, Wei Dongyi has removed the sales links from his online shop. On the evening of August 22, the associate professor at Peking University's School of Mathematical Sciences took down the two sets of math exercise books previously listed in his Bilibili account store.

Before the removal, these two sets of elementary and middle school math teaching materials, which he edited, had accumulated sales of over 26,000 units. Based on the listed prices, the estimated total sales revenue exceeded 1 million yuan.

On the evening of August 18, after a hiatus of more than a year, Wei Dongyi updated his Bilibili account with a video titled "An Interesting Math Problem," which only showcased the solution to a fourth-grade elementary school math question. The video's opening noted that the content came from "Wei Dongyi's Edited 'Mathematical Ability'."

Simultaneously, his Bilibili shop listed two sets of workbooks: "Elementary School Math Problem-Solving Skills Training Workbook" (Grades 1-6, priced at 39.8 yuan) and "Middle School Math Problem-Solving Skills Training Workbook" (Grades 7-9, priced at 49.8 yuan). Both product pages featured the promotional slogan "Learn Math with Wei Dongyi" alongside his photo. The workbooks were edited by Wei Dongyi and published by Longmen Publishing House.

Initially, sales of the workbooks were in the single digits. However, as the topic gained traction, sales grew exponentially. By the evening of August 21, they surpassed 4,000 units. By the afternoon of August 22, cumulative sales had exceeded 15,000 units. By the evening of that same day, the elementary school edition had sold over 20,000 copies, while the middle school edition had sold more than 6,000 copies, totaling over 26,000 units. Calculated at the listed prices, revenue from just this single Bilibili store channel alone has exceeded 1 million yuan.
