Hong Kong, 8 July 2026—Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited (SBP Group) announced that subsidiary Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (CTTQ) has deepened its exclusive strategic collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), adding two high-profile respiratory therapies—fluticasone furoate/umeclidinium/vilanterol inhalation powder (FF/UMEC/VI, Trelegy Ellipta) and umeclidinium/vilanterol inhalation powder (UMEC/VI, Anoro Ellipta)—to its mainland China commercial portfolio.
Under the new agreement, CTTQ acquires exclusive mainland China rights for importation, distribution, hospital access, and promotional as well as non-promotional activities. All China-generated sales revenue will be booked by CTTQ.
Trelegy Ellipta, the first and only single-inhaler triple therapy approved in China for both chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, recorded global sales of £3.00 billion in 2025. Anoro Ellipta, approved in China since 2018 for long-term COPD maintenance, generated £0.54 billion globally in 2025.
Management expects the two products to deliver immediate revenue and profit contributions while accelerating SBP Group’s growth trajectory. The therapies align with SBP Group’s extensive respiratory pipeline, which targets indications such as COPD, asthma, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and rhinitis, and includes novel targets like TSLP, P2X3, ROCK2, and ST2 across multiple inhalation platforms (nebulizers, DPIs, SMIs).
China hosts more than 100 million COPD patients and nearly 50 million asthma patients. COPD’s inclusion in the National Basic Public Health Services Programme in 2024 is projected to improve early screening and treatment adherence, potentially expanding the addressable market for innovative respiratory drugs.
The latest deal builds on the May 2026 alliance between SBP Group and GSK for the hepatitis therapy bepirovirsen, broadening cooperation from hepatology into respiratory care. Both parties may further explore global opportunities involving SBP Group’s R&D pipeline, reinforcing SBP Group’s ambition to act as a preferred commercialization partner for multinational pharmaceutical companies in China.
