China Southern Airlines Company Limited released preliminary operating statistics for July 2026, showing steady traffic expansion and a resilient passenger load factor. All figures are on a year-on-year basis unless stated otherwise.
Passenger Operations • Total available seat kilometres (ASK) rose 4.23% to 38.03 billion, supported by 10.30% growth on international routes and a 2.34% increase on domestic services. • Revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) advanced 5.25% to 32.41 billion, outpacing capacity growth and lifting the overall passenger load factor by 0.82 percentage points to 85.20%. • Domestic RPK climbed 4.40% to 24.15 billion, driving a 1.70 percentage-point improvement in domestic load factor to 86.29%. International RPK rose 8.18% to 8.02 billion, while the load factor on those routes eased 1.61 percentage points to 82.21%. Regional traffic contracted 3.22%.
Cargo Operations • Cargo and mail capacity (ATK – Cargo & Mail) increased 3.06% to 1.66 billion tonne-kilometres, but revenue tonne-kilometres (RTK – Cargo & Mail) edged up only 0.84% to 824.46 million. • The cargo and mail load factor slipped 1.09 percentage points to 49.79%, reflecting softer domestic demand where RTK fell 10.36%.
Cumulative Seven-Month Performance • From January to July 2026, RPK reached 195.73 billion, up 3.61%, while ASK grew 4.08% to 230.53 billion. The year-to-date passenger load factor stood at 84.90%, down 0.38 percentage points. • Cumulative cargo RTK rose 3.22% to 5.85 billion, and the cargo load factor improved 0.80 percentage points to 52.18%.
Fleet and Network Development • During July, the carrier took delivery of eight aircraft—including two A320NEO, three A321NEO, two B737-8 and one C919—and retired seven, bringing the fleet to 974 aircraft (399 self-owned, 261 under finance leases and 314 under operating leases). • A new international service, Fuzhou–Manila, was launched with four flights per week.
