China's Forex Market Records 152.21 Trillion Yuan in First Half of 2026, with June Volume at 28 Trillion Yuan

The State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) released data on the trading volume of China's foreign exchange market for June 2026 on July 31. According to the figures, the total turnover of China's foreign exchange market (excluding foreign currency pairs, the same below) in June 2026 reached 28.00 trillion yuan (equivalent to 4.11 trillion US dollars).

Of this total, the bank-to-customer market recorded a turnover of 5.18 trillion yuan (equivalent to 0.76 trillion US dollars), while the interbank market saw a turnover of 22.81 trillion yuan (equivalent to 3.35 trillion US dollars). The spot market accumulated a turnover of 10.31 trillion yuan (equivalent to 1.51 trillion US dollars), and the derivatives market accumulated a turnover of 17.68 trillion yuan (equivalent to 2.59 trillion US dollars).

For the first half of 2026, from January to June, the cumulative turnover of China's foreign exchange market stood at 152.21 trillion yuan (equivalent to 22.08 trillion US dollars).
