The approvals cover indications for overweight or obesity and type 2 diabetes, with IND numbers 182060 and 182061, respectively.

UBT48128 is a small molecule glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It works by promoting insulin secretion while also controlling appetite and modulating energy metabolism, thereby reducing blood glucose levels and body weight. Preclinical studies in multiple animal models have shown that UBT48128 can significantly reduce body weight and blood glucose, with weight loss results outperforming currently marketed similar products.
