Eli Lilly has announced it will present 16 scientific abstracts covering its latest research findings in Alzheimer's disease diagnosis and treatment at the 2026 Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC).

The conference is scheduled to take place in London from July 12th to July 15th.

New Data on Kisunla's Long-Term Efficacy and Safety

On July 15th, the company will present the latest clinical evidence for Kisunla (donanemab-azbt) in a featured session, including data from the TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 6 study and the TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 2 long-term extension study.

These studies will offer new insights into a modified titration regimen, the safety of corticosteroid pre-treatment, and long-term biomarker changes, further clarifying the benefit-risk profile of this amyloid-targeting therapy.

Kisunla is already approved for the treatment of early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease in patients with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia and confirmed amyloid pathology, administered via intravenous infusion every four weeks.

New Evidence on P-tau217 Blood Test Diagnostic Performance

Also on July 15th, Eli Lilly senior research scientist Samantha Burnham will present key research data showing that a P-tau217 blood biomarker test demonstrated accuracy comparable to amyloid PET scans in identifying Alzheimer's disease pathology among cognitively unimpaired individuals.

Although blood biomarker tests and amyloid PET imaging agents are not currently approved for use in cognitively normal individuals, this result provides evidence supporting the future potential for scalable, more accessible alternative diagnostic options.

Innovations in Research Methodology

On July 13th, Eli Lilly scientist Lars Raket will present a comparative analysis of external control versus internal extrapolation methods within the TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 2 long-term extension study, addressing key methodological questions regarding long-term outcome measurement and interpretation in Alzheimer's clinical trials.

The 16 presentations at this AAIC cover multiple areas including imaging science, health economics, real-world prescription evidence, and patient outcomes, reflecting Eli Lilly's sustained investment in Alzheimer's science over the past 35 years.
