On May 26, China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. announced that its 10th Board of Directors, at its 23rd meeting, reviewed and approved a proposal to appoint Mr. Wang Mingchao as Vice President of the company. The appointment is pending approval from regulatory bodies such as the National Financial Regulatory Administration and will be effective until the conclusion of the current board's term.

Public records show that Wang Mingchao, born in October 1976, is a seasoned executive who has risen through the company's ranks. He holds a postgraduate degree, a master's degree, and is a certified senior human resource management professional. He currently serves as the Human Resources Director of China Pacific Insurance.

His career history is notable for its extensive cross-sector coverage. His previous roles include serving as Head of the Party Affairs Department/Organization and Cadre Department at CPIC Life Insurance, Deputy General Manager and Senior Deputy General Manager of CPIC Life Insurance's Shanghai Branch, General Manager of the Cooperative Business Department at CPIC Anlian Health Insurance, General Manager of the Shanghai Business Department, Sales Director, Head of the Life Insurance Individual Cooperative Business Center, General Manager of the Shanghai Branch, and Chairman of the Labor Union. He has also held positions such as Director of the Board Office and Deputy Market Director at China Pacific Insurance, Board Secretary at CPIC Property & Casualty Insurance, and Director at Pacific Health Insurance.

This appointment reflects China Pacific Insurance's recent emphasis on cultivating leadership talent internally. On the same day, the board also reviewed and approved Wang Mingchao's mid-term audit report, along with an implementation plan for the reform of the professional manager system and an action plan for 2026 focusing on "enhancing quality, efficiency, and shareholder returns." This indicates a coordinated approach to personnel arrangements, corporate governance, and incentive mechanisms.

Analysts note that Wang Mingchao possesses both frontline business management experience and expertise in group-level organizational and human resource systems. His promotion to Vice President is seen as strengthening the group's overall coordination in talent development, cross-sector collaboration, and cultural integration. However, his official assumption of duties is still subject to regulatory approval.

As of the latest update, China Pacific Insurance's A-share market capitalization is approximately 309.6 billion yuan, positioning it as a leading insurance group listed on the A-share, H-share, and GDR markets. The trend towards a younger and more specialized executive team is viewed as a strategic move to bolster internal capabilities amid the industry's ongoing transformation.
