China National Building Material (CNBM) stock plummeted 5.01% intraday on Monday, as investors reacted negatively to the company's recent profit warning and ongoing concerns about its first-quarter financial performance.

The decline followed CNBM's announcement on April 17 that it expects an unaudited net loss of approximately RMB 170 million for the three months ended March 31. While this represents a significant 67.1% narrowing from the RMB 517 million loss in the same period last year, market participants remain concerned that the company has yet to achieve a turnaround to profitability.

Despite improvements driven by higher selling prices and lower costs for fiberglass products, increased sales of electronic cloth and lithium battery separators, and greater fair value gains, these positives were offset by declining cement selling prices. The ongoing weakness in the cement segment continues to weigh on overall performance, creating near-term pressure on the stock as investors assess the recovery pace ahead of formal Q1 results expected by the end of April.
