China Re 2025 Net Profit Slides 7.8% to RMB 10.22 Billion, Proposes RMB 0.0691 Dividend

China Reinsurance (Group) Corporation released its 2025 audited results:

• Operating performance – Insurance revenue grew 1.7% to RMB 103.09 billion; total premium income reached RMB 180.37 billion, up 1.1%. – Total income rose 5.8% to RMB 124.93 billion, supported by a 4.9% increase in investment income to RMB 18.25 billion. – Net profit dropped 7.8% to RMB 10.22 billion; profit attributable to shareholders fell 7.4% to RMB 9.77 billion. – Basic earnings per share were RMB 0.23.

• Segment highlights – Property & casualty reinsurance: net profit RMB 5.11 billion (-1.2% YoY), insurance revenue RMB 45.81 billion (-0.5%). – Life & health reinsurance: net profit RMB 3.90 billion (-7.4%), insurance revenue RMB 10.09 billion (+2.5%). – Primary P&C insurance (China Continent Insurance): net profit RMB 1.26 billion (-14.7%), insurance revenue RMB 48.87 billion (+4.2%).

• Investment & capital – Total investment yield slipped to 4.66% from 4.83%; net investment yield was 3.69% (2024: 3.96%). – Total assets expanded 3.8% to RMB 527.76 billion; shareholders’ equity rose 5.9% to RMB 119.31 billion. – Group aggregated solvency adequacy ratio stood at 189% (2024: 194%), comfortably above regulatory minimums.

• Cash flow & balance sheet – Operating cash inflow surged to RMB 18.57 billion (2024: RMB 10.35 billion). – Cash and equivalents increased to RMB 24.40 billion from RMB 14.12 billion.

• Dividend proposal The Board recommends a final dividend of RMB 0.0691 per share (tax-inclusive), amounting to approximately RMB 2.94 billion, subject to shareholder approval at the 2025 AGM and payable on 21 August 2026 to shareholders on record as of 8 July 2026.

• Outlook Management targets a “good start” to the 15th Five-Year Plan, highlighting priorities in product innovation, digital transformation, and prudent investment. The group will continue to focus on expanding scale, enhancing underwriting profitability and maintaining a conservative investment stance.
