Shanshui Cement (00691) has reported a net loss attributable to equity holders of approximately 726 million yuan for the first half of 2026, marking a 190% increase from the same period last year.

Revenue fell 26.6% year-on-year to about 4.074 billion yuan. Basic loss per share stood at 0.17 yuan. The company attributed the revenue decline to weak market demand, which led to both lower cement sales volumes and selling prices.

During the reporting period, the group sold a combined 16.602 million tonnes of cement and clinker, down 15.3% from a year ago. However, sales of commercial concrete rose 47.1% to 1.021 million cubic metres.

According to data from CCA Digital Cement Network, the average national cement market price in the first half was 334 yuan per tonne (P.O42.5 bulk, delivered), down 52 yuan per tonne year-on-year, a decline of nearly 14%.

The wider loss was mainly due to lower cement sales volumes and prices compared with the same period last year, as well as increased administrative expenses, primarily driven by higher one-off severance benefits.
