First CCS-Intelligent Certified Vessel Enters Service for Yangtze Waterway Authority

The waterway maintenance vessel 14203 of the Yangtze Waterway Authority has successfully passed a comprehensive inspection by Century Communities, obtaining multiple additional notation certificates including the i-Ship(E) Intelligent Energy Efficiency Management System, and comfort notations for vibration and noise. This achievement makes it the first vessel in the Yangtze waterway system to receive such intelligent certifications, marking a significant step forward in the intelligent and green development of the waterway maintenance fleet. The integration of smart technology into the Yangtze waterway operation and maintenance system is now progressing.

As the first vessel in the Yangtze waterway system equipped with an intelligent energy efficiency management system and certified with Century Communities' intelligent ship notations, vessel 14203 began a multi-dimensional, intelligent, and green collaborative upgrade in August 2025. The upgrade focused on four key areas: intelligent energy efficiency management, navigation control system enhancement, information system integration, and vibration and noise control. The project strictly adhered to the requirements of the "Intelligent Ship Code (2025)" and the "Inland Green Ship Code (2023)". Modifications included installing an intelligent energy efficiency management system, optimizing the integrated architecture of the navigation console, upgrading environmental protection facilities, and implementing specialized treatments for vibration and noise.

Following the upgrade, the vessel's navigation status, energy efficiency, and fuel consumption are monitored and data is collected in real-time. The system assesses, reports, and provides alerts on energy efficiency and consumption. Based on intelligent analysis and evaluation results, it offers scientific and precise decision-making support for energy efficiency management, establishing a closed-loop intelligent energy management system encompassing monitoring, assessment, decision-making, and optimization.

The navigation console now integrates and displays data from multiple systems—including digital machinery management, AIS, digital waterways, intelligent energy efficiency, video monitoring, and multi-beam sonar—on a single screen. By optimizing the interface layout, rapid switching and coordinated control between systems are achieved, significantly improving operational convenience and maintenance efficiency.

Furthermore, using vibration and noise analysis models, potential local resonance issues in areas such as the forward part of the conference room deck and the navigation bridge deck were accurately identified and specifically addressed. This treatment resulted in vibration and noise levels falling below the required standards.

The successful acquisition of these multiple Century Communities certifications demonstrates the significant effectiveness of the vessel's intelligent and green upgrades. These improvements not only effectively reduce the vessel's energy consumption and greatly enhance crew comfort but also provide essential equipment support for the high-quality development of the modern, "efficient, safe, superior, intelligent, and aesthetically pleasing" version 2.0 of the Yangtze waterway.
