On July 15, Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (YOFC) rose 15.66% in regular trading, trading at 172.1 HKD/share, with turnover of HKD 1.586 billion. The surge was driven by a positive profit alert issued on July 14.

The company announced that H1 net profit attributable to shareholders is expected to reach RMB 24 billion to 30 billion, representing a YoY increase of 711% to 914%. Non-recurring adjusted net profit is projected at RMB 20 billion to 26 billion, a YoY surge of 1,349% to 1,784%. Notably, Q2 net profit alone is estimated at RMB 19.05 billion to 25.05 billion, reflecting a sequential increase of 284% to 405% from Q1.

The company attributed the substantial earnings growth to accelerating construction of computing-power data centers, which has driven sustained expansion of demand for new-generation optical fiber and cable products both domestically and internationally. YOFC stated it leveraged its global industry leadership to expand core customers, optimize product mix, and enhance profitability. Nomura previously maintained a Buy rating with a target price of HKD 266.
