Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited announced that it has incorporated a wholly owned entity in Delaware, United States, as the foundation for its expansion into the U.S. offshore energy market, with an initial commercial focus on the Gulf of America region.
The new subsidiary will enable the Group to submit bids, sign client and vendor contracts, hire personnel, and support potential marine asset deployments across its target portfolios.
Management said the move is part of a phased market-entry strategy aimed at diversifying geographic revenue and taking advantage of growth in U.S. offshore oil, gas, and related subsea services. A lean business-development team will be deployed immediately to cultivate relationships with regional operators.
Start-up costs will be funded internally and are not expected to have a material impact on net tangible assets or earnings per share for the financial year ending Dec, 31 2026.
The company stated that none of its directors or controlling shareholders has any interest in the new U.S. entity beyond their shareholdings in Mermaid Maritime. Further updates will be provided as material developments arise.
