The State Administration for Market Regulation recently held a pricing compliance guidance session for the photovoltaic sector in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. The meeting was attended by officials from the State Administration for Market Regulation, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, market regulation departments from provinces including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Xinjiang, as well as the China Photovoltaic Industry Association and representatives from 27 solar enterprises.
The regulator stated it will balance both oversight and sector growth, integrating corporate cost accounting with price regulation enforcement. It plans to use measures such as warnings, compliance talks, and administrative guidance to steer solar firms toward fairer price competition. For entities that draw strong industry criticism, severely disrupt market order, or fail to rectify issues after warnings, the regulator will take legal action with serious consequences.
The authority stressed that solar companies must fully grasp the current industry landscape, actively enhance cost accounting management, establish robust pricing compliance systems, and conduct thorough self-inspections. They should embrace a mindset of compliant and rational competition, rejecting harmful low-price wars to uphold market pricing order. Leading firms are expected to set an example by strictly regulating their own pricing and competitive behaviors, serving as benchmarks for the sector.
Industry associations are also urged to strengthen self-discipline, promote the implementation of the "General Rules for Photovoltaic Industry Cost Accounting Models," and guide enterprises in preventing and stopping illegal practices like low-price dumping.
