Chemed Corporation's stock surged 7.96% in the after-hours session on Thursday following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results.
The healthcare and plumbing services company reported quarterly adjusted earnings of $5.65 per share, beating the analyst consensus estimate of $5.30 by 6.6%. Revenue for the quarter reached $657.5 million, exceeding expectations of $649.8 million and representing a 1.63% increase over the same period last year.
Chemed also raised its full-year 2026 outlook, increasing adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $24.00 to $24.75 from the previous range of $23.25 to $24.25. The company attributed the strong performance to increased admissions at its VITAS hospice segment, which grew 6.9%, and raised revenue growth guidance for both its VITAS and American Drain Cleaning segments.
