International oil prices fell sharply on July 27. According to the National Bureau of Statistics website on July 27, from January to June, the total profit of industrial enterprises above the designated size reached 3,947.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.7%. Among these, state-controlled enterprises reported profits of 1,307.74 billion yuan, up 17.9%; joint-stock enterprises achieved 3,044.32 billion yuan, up 24.7%; foreign-invested enterprises, including those from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, posted 887.32 billion yuan, up 2.6%; and private enterprises recorded 965.56 billion yuan, up 13.0%.
2. The Ministry of Commerce stated that China consistently opposes the U.S. practice of politicizing and weaponizing technological and economic issues, stigmatizing Chinese companies under various pretexts, and imposing sanctions. The U.S. ignores facts such as the close timing of Chinese companies' AI model releases to U.S. frontier models and the leading position of some Chinese models. It accuses Chinese companies of relying on "distillation" or "stealing U.S. intellectual property" and threatens suppression and sanctions. These actions lack factual basis, have no legal support, and apply double standards in practice, representing typical AI hegemonic behavior. China urges the U.S. to listen to the objective and rational voices of industries from both countries, correct its hegemonic mindset, and stop smearing and threatening Chinese companies. For any actions that materially harm China's interests, China will take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
3. According to CCTV News on July 27, multiple typhoons have recently landed in China, affecting deep inland areas. Heavy rain has fallen in regions such as South China, East China, and Northeast China, causing severe disasters. According to foreign media reports on July 26, NVIDIA plans to provide approximately $250 billion in financing guarantees for a large data center being built by OpenAI, to support its lease of a 10-gigawatt (GW) mega data center campus in southern Ohio, developed by a subsidiary of Japan's SoftBank Group. According to insiders, if the chips used inside the data center are included, the total investment in the project could reach about $500 billion, making it the largest data center project ever announced.
