Vibrant Group Limited said its board did not know that former executive director and chief executive officer Eric Khua had lost his criminal appeal until Feb, 27 2026, when the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) queried the company about his resignation.
On Feb, 12 2026, chairman Sebastian Tan asked Khua for an update on his personal court case. A day later, on Feb, 13 2026, Khua resigned with immediate effect, citing health reasons.
The nominating committee met Khua on Feb, 14 2026, and he confirmed that health was his sole reason for stepping down. Relying on this representation, the board issued a cessation notice on Feb, 16 2026.
After receiving the investor watchdog’s questions, the company and its legal advisers reviewed public court documents and discovered that the High Court had, on Jan, 29 2026, dismissed Khua’s appeal and upheld a 13-month custodial sentence.
Vibrant Group added that the conviction relates to a personal matter, involves no fraud or dishonesty, and does not concern the group’s operations or funds.
