Stock Track | Excelerate Energy Plunges 15.09% Pre-market on Higher Capex Forecast

Excelerate Energy, Inc. (EE) experienced a significant pre-market plunge, with its stock falling 15.09%. This sharp decline occurred during the pre-market trading session on Thursday.

The movement is attributed to the company's recent forecast for higher annual capital expenditure (capex). Excelerate Energy projected its 2026 committed growth capital to be in the range of $370 million to $400 million, which came in higher than analysts' expectations. Capital One Securities analysts noted that the capex was primarily higher due to increased costs for the Iraqi infrastructure buildout. Additionally, given the stock's strong rally of approximately 53% so far in 2026, analysts suggested that profit-taking could be a contributing factor to the sell-off.
