Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 1,668,212 ordinary shares on Aug, 07 2026, following repurchases made on Aug, 05 2026. The cancellation trimmed the insurer’s outstanding share capital by about 0.07 per cent to 2,501,413,353 shares.
On the same day, the company bought back an additional 269,314 shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging from GBP 10.25 to GBP 10.655 apiece, spending a total of GBP 2.83 million, or roughly 4.8 million Singapore dollars. These shares—together with 296,421 shares repurchased on Aug, 06 2026 at an average price of GBP 10.3143—remain pending cancellation.
Prudential has now repurchased 111,325,611 shares since shareholders approved its current buy-back mandate on May, 14 2025, equal to about 4.27 per cent of the company’s issued share base at that time. Following the latest purchases, the group has authority to repurchase up to a further 151.34 million shares and is subject to a moratorium on new share issues until Sep, 06 2026.
