At the 2026 World Robot Conference Forum, held in Beijing from August 19th to 22nd, Wu Minghui, founder, CEO, and CTO of MiningLamp Technology, shared his insights on the current state of artificial intelligence. He noted that in the digital realm, AI can now produce content, write code, and handle a variety of complex data analysis tasks. "I personally once won a silver medal in the Mathematical Olympiad, but today, purely in terms of intellectual capability, the AI in the digital world has already far surpassed me," he said.
However, he also pointed out that when it comes to the physical world, in the vast majority of current scenarios, AI is still primarily used for singing and dancing, offering little more than emotional value. He elaborated that the next phase for robots lies in the "brain," which encompasses two dimensions. The first brain is the traditional reasoning ability of robots, while the second brain emerges when we truly deploy robots into production systems, offline service industries, and commercial settings.
Wu emphasized that this is the direction he intends to explore in the robotics field going forward. "As is well known, we have established a joint venture with KFC and Pizza Hut. A large number of digital systems and HR management systems in KFC and Pizza Hut stores were previously developed and deployed by MiningLamp. In the future, we will certainly introduce robots into these stores as well," he stated.
