Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has appointed Kamran Azim as its Head of Wealth Management for Asia, also serving as the bank's Singapore branch CEO, with the new role taking effect on November 1, 2026.

Azim succeeds Rod Ireland, who will retire on December 31, 2026, after more than 25 years of service at the bank. Azim joined RBC in 2008, originally based in Toronto, and has held several leadership roles, including Private Banking Head for Singapore and Chief Operating Officer for Wealth Management in Asia.

Wayne Bossert, Vice Chairman of RBC Wealth Management, stated, "We are delighted to have Azim take the baton and build on the business foundation laid by Rod Ireland. With his exceptional commercial acumen, the bank's extensive global network, and a strong track record of executing strategic projects, Azim is well-positioned to advance our strategic priorities and deliver quality service to clients across Asia."

Recently, RBC Wealth Management has recruited several seasoned bankers, including Ivy Ma, Jackson Huang, and Malcom Chai for its Hong Kong team, as well as Shirley Tee, George Joseph, and Sindy Shi for the Singapore team.

RBC has operated in Hong Kong since 1969 and in Singapore since 1975, providing banking, brokerage, wealth planning, lending, investment, and advisory services to high-net-worth clients in Asia. Its strategic markets include Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
