Wharf Holdings Validates 1.5 °C Climate Pathway, Lifts Sustainable Financing to HK$23.60 Billion

Wharf Holdings (00004) released its 2025 Sustainability Report, confirming near-term science-based targets endorsed by the Science Based Targets initiative. The Group will cut Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse-gas emissions 42.00 % and selected Scope 3 categories 25.00 % by 2030 from a 2022 baseline.

Revenue reached HK$10.997 billion and underlying net profit HK$4.104 billion, backed by total assets of HK$198.509 billion.

Key 2025 highlights • Sustainable finance: cumulative green or sustainability-linked loans rose to HK$23.60 billion, representing 50 % of total funding. • Portfolio greening: over 60 % of Mainland investment property GFA now carries third-party green-building labels; Chengdu IFS, Changsha IFS and Shanghai Wheelock Square hold LEED Platinum (Existing Buildings). • Energy and carbon: group-wide carbon- and electricity-intensity reduction targets for 2030 remain on track; Modern Terminals added 761 rooftop solar panels generating 439,944 kWh. • Waste and water: multi-site recycling and rainwater harvesting schemes cut water use and diverted construction and operational waste from landfill. • People: workforce totals about 5,900; gender ratio 1.3:1 (male:female); mean pay ratio 1.4:1; injury incident rate held at 0.8 per 100 employees. • Governance: the Board oversees ESG strategy through a Sustainability Steering Committee chaired by the Chairman; 1,792 hours of anti-corruption training delivered.

External recognition • ESG ratings: Hang Seng Index ESG AA+, HKQAA Sustainability Rating AA+, Sustainalytics ESG Risk 18.3 (low risk), CDP B band. • Certifications: ISO 14001/50001/45001 across core operations; WELL Health-Safety Rating for Chengdu IFS; EarthCheck Gold or Silver for 10 hotels.

Management signalled continued investment in energy efficiency, renewable power and stakeholder partnerships to meet the validated 1.5 °C pathway and Hong Kong’s 2050 carbon-neutral goal.
