Data released by the State Administration for Market Regulation on August 8 shows that in the first half of 2026, enterprises in emerging industries and new tracks continued to gain momentum. The humanoid robot sector established 116,000 new businesses, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. Service-related business entities stood out with notable highlights, while the transformation of manufacturing enterprises accelerated, resulting in a vibrant industrial landscape with diverse achievements.

Enterprises in emerging industries and new tracks kept building momentum. In the first half of the year, 561,000 new businesses were registered across the "8 major emerging industries plus 9 future industries," maintaining a stable growth trend. Certain frontier fields experienced explosive growth. The generative artificial intelligence sector saw 55,000 new businesses, up 28.0% year-on-year. The humanoid robot sector added 116,000 new businesses, a 9.5% increase from the same period last year.

Service-related business entities showed prominent highlights. The service sector registered 3.957 million new enterprises, flat compared with the same period last year. Traditional wholesale and retail businesses grew steadily, with 1.737 million new enterprises in that sector, up 2.9% year-on-year. New consumer formats showed strong vitality. The "silver economy" industry added 31,000 new related enterprises, a 16.0% increase year-on-year. The cultural tourism industry established 1.475 million new related enterprises, maintaining a rapid growth trend. "Famous, special, excellent, and new" individual businesses reached 184,000. High-tech services accelerated their expansion. The information transmission and software technology services sector added 322,000 new enterprises, up 3.3% year-on-year. The inspection and testing services sector saw 16,000 new enterprises, a 43.9% increase. The scientific and technological achievements transformation services sector added 459,000 new enterprises, growing 6.8%.

The transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises picked up pace. The equipment manufacturing industry advanced toward the high end. The high-end equipment manufacturing sector added 28,000 new enterprises, a 2.5% year-on-year increase. Among them, the intelligent equipment manufacturing sector grew by 6.4%, and the urban rail equipment manufacturing sector rose by 4.4%. High-tech manufacturing showed strong momentum. By the end of June, the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises reached 330,000, with 15,000 new ones established in the first half. Among them, the spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing sector saw a 185.7% year-on-year increase in new enterprises, the optical fiber and cable manufacturing sector grew by 129.4%, and the integrated circuit manufacturing sector rose by 24.2%.
